Wanted: Neighborhood Input for Landscaping

April 18, 2018
There are two main lift stations that will serve our neighborhood sewer system.  Lift Station 1 is on the north side of Tanglewood at Tuttle Ave.  Lift Station 2 is on the east side of Tanglewood north of Bermuda Creek.  Both sites are currently under construction.
John Saputo, our Construction Project Manager, has extended an invitation to interested residents to participate in the landscape planning at these locations.  This is an excellent opportunity for us to influence a project that will be a part of our neighborhood for years to come.

Site Plans

Anyone interested in participating in the landscape design for these sites please contact John Saputo:

Sarasota County Status Map

Sarasota County has posted a Storm Debris Pick-Up Status Map to their website. (You’ll notice that our neighborhood is in the area designated N4 – not to be confused with our PCSSRP Area N3).

From today’s Herald Tribune

“Only a little more than 7 percent of roads throughout unincorporated areas of Sarasota County have been cleaned up by debris contractors, according to an interactive map the county has established to track efforts.

The map — updated daily and available online at — highlights public, private and state roads and the status of individual segments. Residents can zoom in on the map all the way to their own home and click the segment for an estimated pickup date, anywhere from next week through early December.”

Saturday’s Cleanup at Red Bug Preserve

May 30, 2017

On Saturday May 27th John Ryan organized a clean up of  the park at Red Bug Slough.  Here’s his summary:

Beautiful Day at Red Bug Slough Preserve!

The Friends of Red Bug Slough Preserve gathered again last Saturday morning.  It was a perfect spring day – not too warm yet.  It was good to see the water levels back up after the prolonged drought we had just a few weeks ago.

Jack and Ronda

We shared some blueberry muffins before we took off and made our neighborhood nature preserve just a little bit better.  Scott made a special effort to root out air potatoes.  Ronda searched for fishing line in the lake.  And Chris dug up some concrete rubble that was dumped here decades ago.  Michele found a garden hose – makes you wonder doesn’t it?

old garden hose                                                                                                                                                         fishing tackle

It was a fun and easy day with friends.  Thanks to everyone who joined in… see you there next time.
